A Florida-based marine manufacturer, Gulfstar entered operations in 1970 with Richard Valdez and Vince Lazarra at the company’s helm. Beginning with sailboats and eventually moving to the inclusion of powerboats, Gulfstar presented yacht vessels that ranged up to 62 feet in length. The Gulfstar brand disappeared by the end of the 1980s. Viking Yachts obtained the assets of Gulfstar’s boat building business.
