Importing inflatable boats, a South Carolina office for Calypso Inflatables was founded in 1984 in order to serve the United States. Calypso Inflatable provides a line-up of vessels ideal as portable dinghies or as rescue crafts for first responders. Changing its name to Apex Inflatables after 1993, the Calypso name was retired following a lawsuit filed by famous water explorer Jacque Cousteau.
