A Gainesville, Florida builder of sailboats and motor boats, Mirage Manufacturing Company was founded in 1971 by Ken Fickett. Producing a successful run of the 20-foot Mirage 5.5 and Mirage 24 fiberglass sailing yacht, the 1990 model year began the first year of powerboat sales for Mirage Manufacturing Company. Migrating from sail to motor powered vessels, Mirage Manufacturing Company had served sport-fishing customers and catered the trawler market since 1997.
