Building their first wooden powerboat in the late 1930s, Stamas Yachts followed the industry trend switching to fiberglass in the 1950s. Stamas Yachts grew in marine market presence during the 1970s and 1980s becoming widely available throughout the United States. The modern history of Stamas Yachts was centered on the construction of 18-foot to 39-foot boats catering to sport fishing and offshore cruising vessels. The Stamas family has owned the Stamas Yachts marine company since its foundation making it the longest, continuously held boat builder in the United States.
