Having built a reputation on safety and unique Swedish design, Volvo has attracted buyers as unique as their premium vehicles. For 1998, the Volvo lineup consists of five models including three brand-new vehicles. Introduced in Europe last year, the Volvo C70 is now included in the United States product line for the Swedish auto company. A departure from the squareness associated with Volvo and featuring propulsion from a turbocharged five-cylinder engine, the Volvo C70 is offered as a two-door coupe or a hair-tickling convertible. Serving the mid-sized luxury category, the four-door sedan S70 and the V70 estate wagon replaces the Volvo 850 with a more modern, aerodynamic look. Last year, the high-end Volvo 960 line was rebranded as the S90 sedan and V90 estate wagon to conform to the automaker's new naming strategy. Slightly revised for 1998, the vehicles known as the Volvo S90 and V90 feature a tweaked suspension for a softer ride.
