BMW's best-selling vehicle, the 3-Series, is completely renewed for 1999. Sporting a fresh new appearance, the After several years of existence only as a convertible, the BMW Z3 adds a hatchback coupe model for 1999. The new hardtop is also offered as the high-performance 1999 BMW M Coupe powered by a 240-horsepower, 2.3-liter engine. On the roadster version of the Z3, a new 2.5-liter engine replaces the 1.9-liter four-cylinder powerplant. The BMW 5 Series sedan is joined by a wagon model for 1999. On V-8 powered versions of the 1999 5 Series, added handling control comes in the form of a standard BMW Dynamic Stability Control system. Park Distance Control and new HID headlights are also available on the 1999 BMW 5 Series line. The 7 Series sedan receives some minor styling revisions for 1999 as well as standard Dynamic Stability Control on all models.
