The top-tiered vehicle in Jeep's three-model line-up has been completely redesigned for 1999. New Grand Cherokee incorporates more rounded exterior lines adhered to a stronger frame. A more spacious interior compartment with the 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee provides greater comfort for rear seat passengers. Power for the new Grand Cherokee is sourced from the PowerTech engine family consisting of a 4.0-liter inline-6 and 4.7-liter V-8. With the Jeep Wrangler for 1999, a larger 19-gallon fuel tank became standard on the popular sport utility vehicle allowing it to travel further before returning to a gas station. The mid-sized Cherokee sport utility remains largely unchanged for 1999.
