For 1999, the all-new Galant is enlarged from the compact to mid-sized sedan category tailored towards families as an alternative to the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord or Nissan Altima. A practical yet sporty looking sedan with new front suspension, the 1999 Mitsubishi Galant provides four-cylinder or six-cylinder engine power. The 1999 Mitsubishi Montero Sport is now offered with a Limited trim model accented by features such as power moonroof, chrome grille and the 3.5-liter V-6 engine from the larger Montero. The Mitsubishi Diamante has eliminated both its ES and LS trim levels for 1999 opting instead to exist as a single model. Front heated seats and traction control delivering greater winter endurance inside the Diamante comes available as part of an all-new Cold Weather Package. The 1999 model year serves as a farewell to Mitsubishi's high-end sports car, the 3000GT. In the final year of the 1999 Mitsubishi 3000GT, features a new front appearance and the VR-4 versions received a unique rear spoiler.
