The 2000 Jeep Cherokee is a compact yet rugged SUV that seats five passengers. The Cherokee is available as a two-door or a four-door. RWD and 4WD are both available on all trims and both body styles. Two engines are available; a 2.5L four-cylinder which produces 125 hp or the popular and reliable 190 hp 4.0L six-cylinder. A five-speed manual transmission comes standard on the SE and Sport trims with a four-speed automatic optional. The four-speed auto is standard on the Classic trim.
