The Lexus ES 300 receives a considerable upgrade for 2000. While not a new generation model, the 2000 ES 300 gains updated styling as well as an enriched interior with increased wood trim and new automatic climate control. HID (High Intensity Discharge) headlights are a new option on the Lexus ES 300. An optional satellite navigation system is new for the 2001 Lexus RX 300 crossover while a trailer hitch is now standard for towing up to 3,500 pounds. The Lexus line-up gains an extra layer of safety for 2000. On the Lexus LX 470, LS 400, ES 300 as well as with GS line, Brake Assist is now included for quicker stopping performance. Vehicle Stability Control is also included on the off-road luxury sport utility Lexus LX 470, GS 300 and GS 400. In addition to enhanced safety equipment, the 2000 Lexus LX 470 comes standard equipped with a power sunroof.
