Mazda has reintroduced the MPV in 2000 to reflect the common traits in the minivan segment. A follow-up to a previous model that featured hinged rear doors as well as the choice of rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, the new Mazda MPV is a front-wheel drive vehicle with more conventional minivan sliding doors. The base four-cylinder engine of the Mazda 626 gains a mild boost in output. Along with refined steering performance, the 2000 Mazda Millenia adds standard remote keyless entry for improved access. One year after a complete redesign, the Mazda MX-5 Miata is now fitted with standard 15-inch wheels for 2000. A new LS trim level for 2000 MX-5 Miata furnishes the luxurious comfort with leather upholstery and improved performance handling with a limited-slip differential.
