The Porsche Boxster receives its first significant upgrade since its 1997 model year debut for 2000. The Boxster's 2.7-liter flat-6 engine now generates 217 horsepower (a 16 horsepower increase over the 1999 Boxster) while even greater performance is available with the all-new Boxster S. Propelled by a 250-horsepower, 3.2-liter flat-6 engine, the 2000 Porsche Boxster S also boasts upgraded suspension, brakes, and a new six-speed manual transmission for a heightened level of performance enjoyment. Following a major reintroduction in 1999 as a liquid-cooled, rear-engined sports car, the Porsche 911 continues to provide impressive performance as a coupe or a convertible top cabriolet.
