Suzuki's product line expands to five vehicles for 2001. Featuring seven-passenger occupancy and power from a V-6 engine, the Suzuki XL7 provides itself as a contender in the family-oriented sport utility vehicle market. A larger vehicle than most Suzuki customers are used to seeing from the Japanese brand, the XL7 sport utility vehicle is 19.1 inches longer than the Grand Vitara. Suzuki's compact utility vehicles received minor updates for 2001. A new grille has been incorporated on the Vitara while the Grand Vitara Limited models wear redesigned alloy wheels. An updated grille, new seating fabric and a standard CD player detail changes made to the 2001 Suzuki Esteem. The ultra-affordable 2001 Suzuki Swift remains identical to the previous year's counterpart.
