A replacement to the 528i model, the 530i debuts in 2002 propelled by an all-new 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine. A minor horsepower bump to 290 horsepower is found with the V-8 powered 540i for 2002. An in-dash CD player is included standard on all 2002 BMW 5 Series models. In its third year on the market, the BMW X5 adds a 4.6-liter powerplant producing 340 horsepower.
