Five of six models present in the 2005 Mitsubishi have undergone some form of significant make-over. For 2005, a new MR Edition of the Lancer Evolution presents a number of handling upgrades such as an Active Center Differential, Bilstein dampers and forged aluminum BBS wheels. A six-speed manual transmission is also standard with the Lancer Evolution MR Edition. The conventional Mitsubishi Lancer option packages have been tweaked for 2005 and a Rally accessory package is new. The lower-cost RS trim level of the Mitsubishi Eclipse coupe is no longer available but a Remix Edition adds excitement beyond the GS model. Premium paint color with fog lights and chrome wheels are found on the outside of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Remix Edition while the interior features leather surfaces. Standard wheels on the Mitsubishi Montero sport utility vehicle have grown from 16 inches to 17 inches for 2005 while the Outlander crossover features a redesigned headlamp assembly. Also no longer part of the Mitsubishi line-up is the Montero Sport or Diamante performance sedan that once served as the brand's flagship model.
