Pontiac launches the first phases of a multi-year restructuring of their sporty vehicle division. After just one year on the market, the Pontiac GTO has received a massive enhancement in the form of a new 6.0-liter LS2 V-8 engine. Generating 400 horsepower, the 2005 GTO features 50 horsepower more output than its 2004 counterpart. Buyers of the 2005 Pontiac GTO also have the no-cost option of a non-scooped hood.
