Delivered as a slightly longer sport utility vehicle than the recently-retooled Grand Cherokee, the all-new Jeep Commander features a toughened, squarer style than its platform-sharing sibling. The most refining feature found on the 2006 Commander is available seven-passenger occupancy. As for the Grand Cherokee, the sport utility vehicle will trek into the high-performance foray with for 2006. The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 is powered by a 6.1-liter HEMI V-8 that generates 420 horsepower. Continuing a modern tradition of specially equipped versions of the Jeep Wrangler, the 2006 model year adds the Golden Eagle Edition. Last seen in the 1980s, the 2006 Wrangler's Golden Eagle is accompanied by 30-inch tires with 15-inch Ravine aluminum wheels and two-tone premium seating.
