The MINI product lineup expands to three vehicles for the 2008 model year. Along with the existing Cooper hardtop and convertible, the 2008 MINI range includes a more versatile offering. Based on a stretched MINI Cooper platform, inspiration from the brand's heritage has led to the resurrection of the Clubman name. Measuring 3.2 inches longer in wheelbase and 8.8 inches greater in total length to the Cooper hardtop, the MINI Cooper Clubman features increased cargo room. Along with the noticeably longer length, the 2008 Clubman is also equipped with unique doors including split-opening rear doors opening like a work van. An access door located behind the passenger's door is also incorporated on the 2008 MINI Cooper Clubman. Redesigned last year, the MINI Cooper hardtop is largely unchanged for 2008.
