2009 Cadillac Escalade ESV
For 2009, the Cadillac Escalade ESV enjoys a few new features, including E85 FlexFuel capability, Bluetooth connectivity, an updated OnStar system, a power-tilt steering wheel, an optional Side Blind Zone Alert system, Magnetic Ride Control suspension on trim levels with 22-inch wheels and a standard navigation system that includes real-time traffic updates. As the largest member of the Cadillac Escalade family, the ESV combines a luxury persona with seating for up to eight passengers and a maximum cargo capacity of 137.4 cubic feet. Powered by a 403-hp V8 engine with 417 lb-ft of torque, Cadillac Escalade ESV specifications list a choice of two-wheel- or all-wheel-drive paired to a six-speed automatic transmission with a manual-shift mode. Towing capacity for the AWD trim is 7,800 pounds. Fuel economy is 12 mpg city/19 mpg hwy and 14 mpg in combined driving for the two-wheel-drive version. Inside, the ESV delivers many of the same features as the regular Escalade but adds an additional DVD system with a large, eight-inch flip-down screen for third-row passengers. Safety equipment includes stability control with a rollover sensor, antilock disc brakes, traction control and full airbags.
