An all-new model for 2009, the Genesis is Hyundai's new flagship sedan and its first rear-wheel-drive luxury car in the US. The base engine is a 3.8L V6 that produces 290 hp and 264 lb-ft of torque, while the upgraded power train features a 4.6L V8 with 375 hp and 333 lb-ft of torque, when fueled with premium and 368 and 324, respectively, for regular. Standard for both trims is a six-speed automatic with manual shift. EPA fuel economy estimates for the V6 are 18 mpg city/27 mpg hwy and 17/25 for the V8. A big, luxury 4-door sedan, the 5-passenger Hyundai Genesis standard features include a Lexicon audio system, leather trim dash and door panels, heated/cooled driver's seat and adaptive headlamps, while a navigation system with backup camera is optional. Antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, active front head restraints, front- and rear-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags come as standard safety features. The Hyundai Genesis is surprisingly spacious, with luxury inside and out, and sports an array of convenience features.
