Each of these engines is mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control. 2009 Mercedes-Benz CLK350 fuel economy stands at 17 mpg city/25 mpg hwy and 20 mpg combined, and the CLK550 coupe rates 15/22/17 mpg. Standard safety features include stability control, antilock disc brakes with brake assist, front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags and active front head restraints. Rear-seat side airbags on convertibles are optional, while pop-up roll bars are standard. With seating capacity for four, the CLK-Class is still a luxury performance car that will uphold its reputation until the planned redesign that's on the horizon for next year.
