Getting only minor changes for 2009, the Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class now features heated front seats and a glove box-mounted six-CD changer. The two-door CLK350, a rear-wheel-drive coupe or convertible, is equipped with a 3.5L V6 that churns out 268 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, while the 5.5L V8-powered CLK550 pushes out 382 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque. Each of these engines is mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control. 2009 Mercedes-Benz CLK350 fuel economy stands at 17 mpg city/25 mpg hwy and 20 mpg combined, and the CLK550 coupe rates 15/22/17 mpg. Standard safety features include stability control, antilock disc brakes with brake assist, front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags and active front head restraints. Rear-seat side airbags on convertibles are optional, while pop-up roll bars are standard. With seating capacity for four, the CLK-Class is still a luxury performance car that will uphold its reputation until the planned redesign that's on the horizon for next year.
