Replacing a 2.3-liter engine, the 2.5-liter displacement powerplant found on the 2009 Mariner generates 175 horsepower and is matched with a six-speed automatic transmission. This engine was also added to the Mariner Hybrid. Peak power for the compact sport utility is showcased by a 240-horsepower V-6 engine. Introduced last year with the Mariner, a high-fashion VOGA styling package is expanded onto the Mercury Milan and Sable for 2009 consisting of a number of unique styling touches. For 2009, AdvanceTrac electronic stability control has been added as an option on the Mercury Milan while the Sable welcomes the technology as standard equipment.
