Primarily unchanged for 2009, the Toyota Tundra Two-Wheel-Drive Truck is available in Regular Cab, Double Cab and CrewMax body styles. The Tundra Double Cab is a large version of what others call an extended cab with four forward-hinged doors, while the Tundra CrewMax is a large crew cab with four regular doors and a vertically sliding rear window. Standard on the Regular Cab and the shorter-bed Double Cab is a 4.0L V6 engine cranking out 236 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque; however, optional on these body styles and standard on other Tundras is a 4.7L V8 engine discharging 271 hp and 313 lb-ft of torque. At the top of the powertrains is an optional 5.7L V8 engine unleashing 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque. A five-speed automatic transmission is standard on most trims, while a six-speed automatic is optional. Depending on the configuration, Toyota Tundra 2WD Truck fuel economy ratings vary, but the V6 engine can achieve 15 mpg city/19 mpg hwy, and the 4.7L V8 is good for 13/16 mpg, both with a five-speed automatic transmission.
