A Touring Package was also introduced onto the 2012 CTS providing accentuation aiding both the sport and luxury appearance of the Cadillac. The 2012 model year sees the incorporation of a 3.6-liter V-6 powerplant on the Cadillac CTS and SRX. Generating 318 maximum horsepower with the CTS line-up, the newly retooled engine is presented as option equipment. The direct-injected, 308-horsepower engine attached to the 2012 Cadillac SRX replaces both the turbocharged 2.8-liter and 3.0-liter V-6 found in last year's version of the premium crossover utility. A change at the top of Cadillac's car line-up is expected in 2013 as the brand-new XTS takes the place of both the DTS and STS sedans. With the discontinuation of the Cadillac DTS, the Northstar V-8 engine is officially retired from the luxury brand.
