The third generation Fortwo boasts an all-new look and new features such as an available six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Significantly wider than the previous Fortwo, the all-new 2016 Smart Fortwo obtains improved stability as well as greater interior storage room.
The new Fortwo is powered by a turbocharged, 898 cc three-cylinder engine generating 89 horsepower (19 horsepower greater than the previous generation Fortwo). Entering North America as a three-door hatchback first, a Smart Fortwo Cabrio is expected to arrive during the summer of 2016. A new Electric Drive version of the Smart Fortwo is expected for 2017.
