The new front-wheel drive premium vehicle sports an elegantly redesigned character based on a stronger, lighter structure. A new eight-speed automatic transmission introduced to the 2017 Kia Cadenza is among several technological advancements found on the sedan. Advanced Smart Cruise Control with stop-and-do functionality, Autonomous Emergency Braking and a 12-speaker Harman/Kardon sound system with Clari-Fi music restoration technology is available on the 2017 Cadenza. Other major debuts to the Kia sedan lineup for 2017 is a refined Optima Hybrid as well as the brand's first plug-in hybrid. The new 2017 Kia Optima Plug-in Hybrid can run up to 27 miles in full EV mode. On the compact Kia Forte, the 2017 model year sees the promotion of the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine to the base model. A sport-oriented S trim and the availability of advanced driver assistance technology are also found on the 2017 Forte. The Kia Rio sedan enters 2017 without the SX trim level while the brand's flagship K900 receives an updated UVO infotainment system.
