Maneuvering away its image as a purely utilitarian four-wheel drive vehicle established 70 years before, the 2018 Land Rover lineup includes blazing paths with the luxury-oriented sport utility market. Land Rover's Range Rover product line expands in 2018 with the addition of the ultra-modern Velar. A sleekly-styled luxury utility vehicle, notable design features found on the Range Rover Velar include copper details and door handles that run flush with the bodywork. On the Velar as well as the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models, a new InControl Touch Pro Duo infotainment system features a pair of 10-inch touchscreens. Powered by a 557-horsepower supercharged V-8 engine, the new Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic is also fitted with a unique suspension and Brembo brakes. The general 2018 Range Rover lineup includes Nanoe cabin air ionization technology as standard equipment while an updated rear seat entertainment system and gesture-control sunroof blind is optional. The two-door hardtop body style of the Range Rover Evoque has been dropped but the small premium utility remains available as a four-door hardtop and two-door convertible model for 2018. Automatic emergency braking is now standard on the Land Rover Discovery while the Discovery Sport is available with a high-output engine that produces 286 horsepower.
