About I35

Transforming the INFINITI I30 into the INFINITI I35 in 2002, a new larger displacement engine allowed the mid-positioned sedan to tout a new level of premium performance. The 3.5-liter V-6 engine came from the Nissan VQ powerplant family and featured technologies such as Nissan Variable Induction System, individualized coils for each spark plug and molybdenum coated pistons. Output from the I35's engine was rated at 255 horsepower (a 28-horsepower gain over the previously-used 3.0-liter V-6 engine) and 246 pound-feet of torque. Traction control was standard on the INFINITI I35 while Vehicle Dynamic Control stability control was an option. Sojourner leather seating, remote keyless entry and a 7-speaker, 200-watt Bose audio system with six-disc CD changer served as standard comfort features for the sedan. With the arrival of an upgraded G35 line-up in 2003, the INFINITI I35 was initially branded as a luxury performance sedan. Likely due to redundancy and INFINITI's move away from front-wheel drive cars, the 2004 model year was the final appearance of the I35 sedan.
