About M56

All-new for 2011, the INFINITI M56 succeeded the long-running M45 sedan. As can be expected from an eight-cylinder powered luxury flagship sedan, the INFINITI M56 exhibited peak luxury style and performance from the brand. Featuring exterior influence from INFINITI's Essence Concept car, the M56 shape projected richness in a shape aerodynamics conformed to a 0.27 coefficient of drag. Elegance and comfort inside the 2011 INFINITI M56 sedan were furnished with custom leather along with handcrafted wood accents. The M56's modern luxury would be showcased in the availability of Blind Sport Warning and Blind Spot Intervention, 4-Wheel Active Steer and a Forest Air cabin system. Offered with a rear-wheel or an all-wheel drivetrain choice, INFINITI M56's power came from a 420-horsepower 5.6-liter V-8 employing gasoline direct injection. Compared previously the INFINITI M sedan's eight-cylinder engine, the new 5.6-liter V-8 used the 2011 M56 generated 95 more horsepower while posting better fuel economy numbers. The INFINITI flagship would join the rest of the luxury brand's 2014 line-up in adopting a new naming structure utilizing a ‘Q' for cars with a two-number ranking. The M56 became the Q70 for the 2014 model year.
