About Spectra

In 2000, Kia introduced the Spectra as a popular andsporty, entry-level hatchback that would attract the younger buyer. The 2001Spectra saw minor changes made to the interior and the addition of the LongHaul Warranty Program. In 2002, the Spectra was renamed to the Spectra sedan,and Kia started offering the hatchback and sedan models. The 2003 Spectra saw aCD player standard, updated exterior moldings, revamped climate controls, and arear wiper added to the hatchback. In 2004, Kia introduced a redesigned Spectrawith more features and added value. In 2005, Kia launched the Spectra5 trim,which featured a variety of sporty upgrades like 16 alloy wheels, a sportierinterior and sport-tuned suspension. In 2006, Kia discontinued the LX sedan andmade some minor changes to other trim levels. The 2007 Spectra saw the additionof a tire-pressure monitoring system in all trims. There were no changes madeto the 2008 Spectra. In 2009, Kia made minor changes to equipment and addedactive front headrests and cruise control as standard features across all trimlevels.
