The 2002 Cadillac line-up deals with the entrance of the luxury brand's new image and the departure of its most senior nameplate. All-new for 2002, the Cadillac Escalade premium sport utility vehicle line is heavily-enriched with increased V-8 engine power and sophisticated styling. Third-row seating is a new equipment item on the 2002 Escalade. In addition to the traditional Escalade sport utility, Cadillac adds a second body style with the debut of an Escalade EXT featuring flexible pick-up truck bed. After nearly 50 years of being a staple of Cadillac's commitment to luxury, the iconic Eldorado nameplate is being retired at the end of 2002. A Collector Series version of the 2002 Cadillac Eldorado will conclude with a specially-numbered 1,596-vehicle run. The poorly-received Cadillac Catera has been dropped from the brand's product range for 2002. A brand-new CTS sedan is set to appear in 2002 as a 2003 model as a landmark vehicle for the luxury car maker.
